Invest in Kids’ April 21st Gala Honors Brandeberry-McKenna Public Affairs as 2017 Community Impact Award Recipient
Invest in Kids will be joined by more than 400 attendees in celebrating its 9th annual gala. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Community Impact Award, which celebrates one company that has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the mission of Invest in Kids.
This year’s community impact award recipient is Brandeberry-McKenna Public Affairs. For 17 years, Jenifer Brandeberry and Julie McKenna, along with their team, have been dedicated advocates on behalf of Invest in Kids. While there are many successful outcomes of this partnership, none has been greater than the passage and maintenance of the Nurse Home Visitor Act, passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor in 2000 which has provided over $165M to the delivery of Nurse-Family Partnership®.
Nurse-Family Partnership® is a relationship-based program that partners highly-trained professional nurses with vulnerable first-time mothers and their babies. The program transforms lives through improved pregnancy outcomes, promotion of child health and development, and the encouragement of economic self-sufficiency for families. The Nurse Home Visitor Act, maintained in statute given the focus on educating new policy makers every year, has allowed Invest in Kids to support the high-quality implementation of the program for more than 23,000 Colorado moms – yielding a proven return on investment. In 2017, the Nurse-Family Partnership® will serve 4,000 vulnerable families and is available in all of Colorado’s 64 counties.
In covering the event in a prior year, Joanne Davidson of the Denver Post said, “Hardly a day goes by in Denver when there isn’t a fundraising dinner of some sort. And while each one is special, few are more delicious than the one put on by Invest in Kids”.
The celebration will highlight culinary delights from Denver’s top restaurants, including: Ace Eat Serve, Blueprint Bar, Briar Common, Central Bistro, Il Porcellino, Lola, Luca, Mizu Izakaya, Rioja, and Root Down.
The evening will be hosted at Cluster Studios located at 3881 Steele Street. The event will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are required and can be purchased at www.iik.org. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
