Eden was born and raised in Ethiopia but moved to Colorado when she was 10 years old. Her love for Colorado was what made her decide to attend the University of Denver. She is currently in her fourth-year triple majoring in International Studies, Political Science, and Psychology and is expected to graduate in June 2021.
This will be Eden’s second session working with BBMK. Her first introduction to the world of politics came from her time working on the Jarep Polis gubernatorial camping back in 2017. She has a passion for being a public servant and giving back to the community that has shaped who she is. She has also worked for two years at her school’s undergraduate admission office as the group visits fellow planning visits for underserved high school students in the Denver metro area in the school’s ongoing efforts of community engagement and inclusive excellence.
Eden is very involved on campus as she has been a Resident Assistance for three years. She has been president of three clubs and even founded a chapter of the national organizing called Leading Women of Tomorrow. She has also been the events coordinator for a non-profit called Education for AfriKa started by a DU student.
During her free time, Eden loves to cook traditional Ethiopian dishes with an American twist. She also loves to read books and catch up on her favorite shows.
